NEW YORK, Aug 31 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Friday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.35 per cent to 101.699 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro decreased to US$1.1052 from US$1.1079 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to US$1.3122 from US$1.3171 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 146.10 Japanese yen, higher than 144.78 Japanese yen of the previous session.
The US dollar rose to 0.8504 Swiss francs from 0.8460 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.3486 Canadian dollars from 1.3476 Canadian dollars. The US dollar was up to 10.2722 Swedish Kronor from 10.2307 Swedish Kronor.
