DHAKA, Sept 2 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Remittances from Bangladeshis working overseas totalled over US$4 billion during July and August, according to data released by the country's central bank on Sunday.
According to the data, remittance, one of the key sources of foreign exchange for the impoverished nation, surged 39 per cent year-on-year to US$2.22 billion in August, reported Xinhua.
Remittance was US$1.91 billion in July.
Remittance mainly comes from Middle Eastern countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
