CAMBODIA

 

1.  CAMBODIA EMERGES SECOND TOP CASHEW EXPORTER -- Agence Kampuchea Presse

Cambodia produced 830,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts in the first seven months of this year, making it the world's second-largest cashew exporting country. The government launched the National Cashew Policy 2022-2027 to transform the country into a major exporter.

2. GUMBALL 3000 RALLY PROMOTES TOURISM -- Agence Kampuchea Presse

THE Gumball 3000 Rally that is expected to attract participants from 40 countries will promote the local tourism sector. The event will feature a luxury car show, that includes supercars, hypercars, and sports cars, in front of the Angkor Wat Temple from September 15 to 17.

1. CENTRAL BANK STABLISES CURRENCY WITH US$10 MILLION -- The Global New Light Of Myanmar

Myanmar’s Central Bank pumped US$17 million into the economy to stabilise and avoid devaluation of the local currency kyat. The bank channelled US$10 million into the fuel oil sector, while another US$7 million into edible oil.

 

2. FARMERS TO GROW MONSOON PADDY -- The Global New Light Of Myanmar

The Agriculture Department encourages farmers to grow monsoon paddy, wheat and other crops again in flood-stricken regions before the season ends. Some of these crops were damaged by extreme rainfall and strong winds in recent days in parts of Myanmar.

Vietnamese top midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and his wife Chu Thanh sold their car to support victims affected by Typhoon Yagi. They sold their electric car — Vinfast VF3 model — for US$9,781 and the funds will be donated to the national disaster recovery fund.
