   1.    ZERO COVID-19 CASES AS OF SUNDAY - - FRESH NEWS

The Ministry of Health announced that no COVID-19 cases were detected and zero deaths were reported. Nationwide, 136,268 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far. The government is accelerating the injection of the sixth dosage among citizens.

 

2. GUMBALL 3000 RALLY KICKS OFF - - AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

The Gumball 3000 Rally kicked off on Sunday in Phnom Penh that showcased iconic luxury cars, drifting techniques and concerts. A display of supercars, hypercars and classic sports cars to break the Guinness World Record will be held on Tuesday in front of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap.

 

MYANMAR

1. MASTER PLAN TO PRESERVE ANCIENT PAGODAS - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Restoration and preservation of ancient temples and stupas destroyed by recent heavy rain are underway. Experts will be invited to renovate some of the structures and a maintenance plan will be designed to preserve them. The construction of buildings in the vicinity is barred to protect ancient heritage. 

 

2. TACKLING FAKE NEWS NIGHTMARE - -THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar is working with other governments to overcome the proliferation of fake news and disinformation severely undermining peace, stability, progress, and development in some countries. This was highlighted at the BRICS Media Summits held in Moscow last week

 

VIETNAM

1. TYPHOON CASUALTIES IN NORTH VIETNAM - - VIETNAM NEWS

A total of 292 deaths were reported and 38 people are still missing in northern Vietnam due to heavy floods and landslides triggered by Typhoon Yagi since last week. Nationwide damages are estimated at US$1.6 billion and are likely to increase as some localities are facing flood risk.

 

2. INDIA FLOOD RELIEF SUPPORT FOR ASEAN COUNTRIES - - VIETNAMPLUS

India launched the "Sadbhav" relief operation to provide emergency assistance to help Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar cope with severe damage caused by storms and floods. India dispatched humanitarian aid and financial support to these countries.

 

THAILAND

1. Two Chinese nationals arrested over involvement in thefts from cars -- The Nation

Two Chinese nationals were arrested on Saturday at a motorway rest stop in Chachoengsao province

for attempted theft and illegal entry into Thailand, leading to an investigation into the involvement of a

larger call-centre scam network.

 

2. PM sets up flood centres -- Bangkok Post

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has ordered the creation of a national centre to monitor the

flood situation across the country, as well as two new agencies to coordinate the flood response and

post-flood recovery efforts.
