Islamic Countries Should  Try To Stop The All-Out War Against Gaza

07/10/2024 08:36 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Islamic countries should use their alignment in supporting the Palestinians as an opportunity to halt the all-out war against Gaza and the genocide by Israel, said a statement from the Embassy of Iran here.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, like other Islamic countries such as Malaysia, supports Palestine and strives for the freedom and independence of Palestine, according to the statement released in conjunction with the first anniversary of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.

“...in both countries in Iran and Malaysia, we witnessed widespread sympathy of the people with the Palestinian people, and for the first time, we are witnessing a kind of unheard-of alignment among Islamic countries in the necessity of stopping the killing of Palestinians in Gaza,” the statement read.

Some countries, including South Africa, have led diplomatic-legal campaigns against the Israeli occupation regime in international legal institutions, setting an example that all nations can follow.

Iran, Malaysia, and many other countries fully supported South Africa's recent action at the International Court of Justice.

The statement highlighted the severe toll on the innocent people of Gaza over the past year, noting that tens of thousands of women and children have been killed in what it described as blind attacks by the Zionist regime, with tragedies that have been unprecedented in the wars over the past 100 years.

The history of the Palestinian resistance has shown that despite the brutal killings, the Palestinian people have never stopped their fight to have their own country.

According to the statement to present an image of its victory in the war with the defenceless people of Gaza, the Zionist regime has turned its attention to Beirut in recent months, claiming that it is in the final stage of closing the Gaza case, and has intensified its attacks and aerial bombardments on Beirut to assassinate Lebanese resistance commanders. However, it has failed to achieve its goals.

The Iranian Embassy stated that nearly a year after the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, the issue of Gaza and Palestine remains at the forefront of global news. It noted that global public opinion has turned against Israel's occupying regime, with widespread protests held across all continents and in most countries throughout the past year. The opposition to Israel’s occupation continues to grow.

The embassy further emphasised that Muslims worldwide reject the normalisation of relations with the Zionist regime, persisting in their efforts to condemn Israel's aggression in both Palestine and Lebanon.

The assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran by the Zionist regime was an attempt to weaken the will and determination of the Palestinian people but history has proven that the martyrdom of resistance leaders will strengthen the resolve of fighters against aggression and occupation, it added.
