The Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) has announced that the National Museum of Indonesia (MNI) will reopen to the public on Oct. 15, 2024. Located in Central Jakarta, the historic building has undergone extensive renovations and will welcome visitors after a year-long closure.

1. CHINESE PREMIER IN VIETNAM TO WARM UP TIES -- HANOI TIMES

Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on Saturday for a three-day official visit to Vietnam - his maiden diplomatic visit as premier and the first official visit to Vietnam by a Chinese Premier in the past 11 years.

 

2. VIETNAM RETURNS 16 CHINESE AQUACULTURE CAGES -- VIETNAMPLUS 

Mong Cai City officials in northern Vietnam returned 16 aquaculture cages to China that drifted into its waters during Typhoon Yagi last month. Cages and rafts were officially handed over in the Gulf of Tonkin between Vietnam and China.

 

MYANMAR

1. TRADITIONAL CULTURAL SHOW TO PROMOTE NATIONAL UNITY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2024 will be held from 14 to 20 October to promote the cultural heritage of the diverse ethnic communities and enhance the national spirit. About 2,500 contestants from various regions and states will participate in the colourful event.   

2. AYEYARWADY MODEL VILLAGE TO REDUCE POVERTY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

A model village launched in the Ayeyarwady Region, with the support of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation, aims to bridge the urban-rural development gap in the area. A total of 15 similar projects are implemented with funding from the cooperation.
