OIC, Muslim Nations Condemn Israeli Ceasefire Violations In Gaza

01/02/2026 10:22 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned, in the strongest terms, the continuing horrific massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against innocent civilians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the organisation highlighted the latest bombing of various areas in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in 31 martyrs and dozens of civilian casualties.

OIC described the events as a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement, and an attempt to undermine international efforts to stabilise the truce and implement the second phase of the agreement.

The OIC held Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for the repercussions of this heinous crime.

It also called on the international community, especially the United Nations (UN) Security Council, to assume its responsibilities towards compelling Israel to respect its full commitments and implement the provisions of the second phase in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

Furthermore, the OIC stressed the need to open all crossings to provide unimpeded humanitarian assistance, withdraw Israeli occupation forces, and begin the process of early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

The statement also reiterated the need to relaunch a political process leading to an end to the Israeli occupation and the implementation of the two-state solution.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, which they stated have resulted in the killing and injuring of more than a thousand Palestinians.

In a joint statement, the ministers noted that these actions risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts aimed at consolidating calm and advancing the second phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

“The ministers consider that these repeated violations constitute a direct threat to the political process and hinder ongoing efforts to create appropriate conditions for transitioning to a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian conditions, and stress the necessity of full commitment to ensuring the success of the second phase of President Trump's peace plan,” the statement read.

They called on all parties to fully uphold their responsibilities during this critical period, exercise the utmost restraint, and refrain from any actions that may undermine the current process.

The ministers also urged the creation of favourable conditions to move forward toward early recovery and reconstruction, as well as to advance a just and lasting peace grounded in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab peace initiative.
