CAMBODIA

 

1.FBI SUPPORTS CAMBODIA ELIMINATE CYBERCRIME -- FRESH NEWS 

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) commended Cambodia for its efforts to eradicate online scams. The FBI said it will continue to collaborate with Cambodia’s Commission for Combating Online Scams.

 

2.DIGITAL OVERHAUL OF MEDIA INFRASTRUCTURE -- FRESH NEWS 

The Voice of Vietnam will assist Cambodia in the digital overhaul of the Kingdom’s national broadcasting infrastructure. Based on an agreement, both parties will modernise the National Television of Cambodia and the National Radio of Cambodia.

 

LAOS

 

1.HUNGARY-FUNDED WATER TREATMENT PLANT -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Hungary-financed Vientiane Water Treatment Project, handed over to the Lao government, will modernise water supply and wastewater management. The project will be crucial in environmental protection, improving public health and upgrading sanitation in Vientiane.

 

2.SHAPING MODERN LAO CITY -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Lao and Vietnamese officials are holding talks in Vietnam from February 2 to 6 to discuss their experiences in urban management and town planning. The discussions aim to study urban development and sustainable city growth.

 

MYANMAR

 

1.AGRI MINISTRY INVITES RESEARCH PAPERS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Livestock and Aquaculture Research Department is inviting research papers on livestock to mark the fourth anniversary of the department on April 1. The session will cover sustainable livestock production systems and high-value marketable livestock.

 

2.SUBSIDIES TO ASSIST RICE GROWERS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation has provided subsidies for about 200 rice farmers in the export zone. It will cover the cost of fertiliser and seeds, and other farming costs to support farmers.

1.SPRING FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL PRODUCTS -- VIETNAM PLUS

The government has directed all agencies and localities to promote local products and brands at the first Spring Fair 2026. The event is being held at the National Exposition Centre in Hanoi from February 2 to 13.

 

2.GERMAN SUPPORTS GREEN ENERGY INNOVATION -- VIETNAM NEWS 

Vietnam and Germany are enhancing cooperation in sustainable development, energy transition and green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is vital in achieving climate neutrality and reducing industrial carbon emissions.

1.INDONESIA TO REVIVE TEXTILE INDUSTRY WITH $6B INVESTMENT IN MIDSTREAM -- ANTARA

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said the country’s textile industry will be “reborn” by strengthening the midstream sector.

 

2.INDONESIA’S F-15 FIGHTER JET DEAL FALLS THROUGH AFTER YEARS OF TALKS -- THE JAKARTA POST 

Indonesia has failed to realize its plan to acquire F-15EX fighter jets from United States aircraft manufacturer Boeing, ending a prominent defence procurement deal aimed to modernize the country’s military equipment that has stagnated for years.

2.PHIVOLCS LOGS 6.5K TONS OF SULFUR DIOXIDE FROM MAYON -- PHILIPPINE NEWS AGENCY The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded an increase in volcanic sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions from Mayon Volcano, averaging 6,569 tons on Wednesday, the highest daily emission in the past 15 years.

1. MEDICAL CERTIFICATION NEEDED FOR MOBILITY SCOOTER USERS FROM JUN 1; THOSE 70 AND OLDER EXEMPT -- CNA

A certificate of medical need will be required for users of mobility scooters from Jun 1, with seniors aged 70 and above exempt, after a law was passed in parliament on Wednesday.

 

2. PARLIAMENT PASSES BILL THAT PAVES THE WAY FOR ERP 2 AND STRICTER MOBILITY SCOOTER RULES --  THE STRAITS TIMES
