SINGAPORE, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said it had no information regarding the allegation that two Singaporeans were fighting as part of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), local media reported.
The ministry noted that it was aware of a foreign media report claiming that two Singaporeans were among individuals who fought for the IDF in Gaza.
"MHA does not have any substantiated information at this point that any Singaporean is/was fighting as part of the IDF,” the ministry said as reported by The Straits Times (ST) on Thursday.
MHA was responding to queries from ST regarding a Feb 11 report published by the British investigative journalism outlet Declassified UK.
The report stated that two Singapore passport holders were among those identified — one a Singapore citizen reportedly holding Israeli citizenship, and another said to possess multiple citizenships.
However, it did not specify the roles allegedly held by the Singapore citizens or the duration of their involvement.
