SAN JOSE, California, March 17 (Bernama-dpa) -- Nvidia expects US$1 trillion in orders for the company's advanced processors through to 2027, chief executive Jensen Huang said on Monday, reported German news agency dpa.

Demand for Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) was "off the charts," Huang said during a keynote address at the tech giant's GTC Conference.

"I believe computing demand has increased by 1 million times over the last few years."

As a result, Huang told the audience he now sees at least US$1 trillion in revenue from 2025 through 2027.

Nvidia's chip systems are used worldwide to train artificial intelligence (AI) applications, powering data centres run by tech giants such as Google and Meta, as well as start-ups like OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT.

The company's results are widely viewed as a barometer for the health of the AI industry.

Last month, the company reported revenue for the fourth quarter rose to US$68.1 billion from a year earlier. Sales were also up 20 per cent from the previous quarter.

In October it became the first company in the world worth US$5 trillion in market capitalisation.
