HYDERABAD (India), April 12 (Bernama) -- Famous Bollywood playback singer Asha Bhosle has died aged 92.
She died on Sunday at a Mumbai hospital following multiple organ failure, local media reported.
The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday due to a chest infection.
Her last rites will be conducted on Monday afternoon at Shivaji Park, her son Anand Bhosle said.
People will be able to pay their last respects to her in the morning at Casa Grande in the Lower Parel area where she lived.
Bhosle and her sister Lata Mangeshkar, who died in 2022 also aged 92, entertained Bollywood music lovers for decades.
The sisters had different singing styles, but both enjoyed vast popularity.
Born Sept 8, 1933, she had recorded over 12,000 songs, including thousands in about 800 movies.
Bhosle was recognised by the Guinness World Records in 2011 as the artist with the highest number of studio recordings.
