ISLAMABAD, April 15 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- At least nine people have died of monkeypox in Pakistan's southern Sindh province, where 25 cases have been confirmed so far this year, the provincial health department said on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.
According to official figures, a total of 122 suspected cases have been reported, indicating continued transmission of the virus in different parts of the province.
Health authorities said Khairpur district remains the worst-affected area with 18 confirmed cases, followed by Sukkur with three and Karachi with four cases.
Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, urging the public to seek immediate medical attention in case of symptoms and follow precautionary measures to limit transmission.
