Submissions For Sarawak Digital Economy Awards 2024 Open Until Sept 23

KUCHING, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak State Government, through the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), is inviting entries for the Sarawak Digital Economy Awards (Sarawak DEA 2024), with submissions open until Sept 23, 2024.

In a statement, the SMA said the organiser encourages all potential participants to seize this final opportunity to contribute to Sarawak’s digital future.

“This prestigious event celebrates digital innovation and transformation across various sectors,” the SMA said, noting that Sarawak DEA 2024 is a key feature of the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2024.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Oct 17, 024, coinciding with the seventh edition of IDECS, where the most exceptional submissions will be honoured.

SMA said the awards would highlight digital innovation, collaboration and progress, providing a platform for visionaries, pioneers and innovators to showcase their contributions to Sarawak’s digital advancement.

Award categories include micro, small and medium enterprises; research and development; technology start-ups; digital government; sustainability; and Industry 4.0.

A special focus will be the Sarawak Premier’s Digital Economy Award, which recognises the most outstanding achievement among all category winners.

SMA also highlighted that, under the visionary leadership of Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg, IDECS has risen as a global platform driving digital excellence and fostering socio-economic progress.

“Notable outcomes from IDECS include the establishment of key institutions such as the Development Bank Sarawak and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation,” the statement added.
