Capital A Rises In Early Trade On Network Expansion Plans In Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- Capital A Bhd rose in early trade today following plans to expand its network in Indonesia, particularly in East Nusa Tenggara. 

As of 10.18 am, Capital A advanced 4.5 sen, or 5.48 per cent, to 86.5 sen, with 13.388 million shares traded. 

On Thursday, Capital A chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes announced that AirAsia plans to expand its network in East Nusa Tengarra and offer direct flights to eastern Indonesia from ASEAN, along with some domestic routes.  More details will be announced next month, he said, adding that AirAsia is also exploring potential routes to Papua and Dili (Timor Leste).

As of June 2024, Indonesia AirAsia operated 33 routes, including eight domestic and 25 international routes, carrying 1.7 million passengers.
