Bursa Malaysia Suspends Short Selling In Pertama Digital To Oct 7

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia has suspended short selling in Pertama Digital Bhd’s shares to Monday, Oct 7, 2024, at 8.30 am.

In a filing, Bursa Malaysia said that short selling under Intraday Short Selling (IDSS) in Pertama Digital has been suspended for the rest of the day as the last done price of the approved securities dropped more than 15 per cent or 15 sen from the reference price.

Pertama Digital’s short selling was halted yesterday after a dramatic plunge in its share price during morning trading.

As at 10.11 am today, the counter declined 33.5 sen or 29.91 per cent to 78.5 sen, with 465,000 shares changing hands.

In response to the letter from Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, Pertama Digital stated that the company is not aware of any undisclosed corporate developments related to the group’s business and affairs that could explain the recent trading activity. This includes any developments in the negotiation or discussion stage.

“We are (also) not aware of any rumours or reports concerning the business and affairs of the group that may account for the trading activity, other than the information we have disclosed in our recent press release dated Oct 3, 2024,” it said.
