Malaysia Space Industry Consortium Inducted Into International Astronautical Federation

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- The induction of the Malaysia Space Industry Consortium (MASIC) into the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) highlights Malaysia’s rapidly advancing space sector.

President Datuk Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed said MASIC's membership in the IAF represents a defining chapter in Malaysia’s journey.

"It not only validates our relentless efforts to elevate Malaysia’s space industry but also enhances our capacity to build strategic global partnerships.

"We remain resolute in our mission to push the boundaries of space technology and contribute to Malaysia’s long-term goal of attaining self-reliance in space capabilities by 2030," he said.

In a statement, the consortium said the induction affirms MASIC's rising prominence within the global space community.

This promises to unlock numerous opportunities for collaboration between MASIC and leading international space organisations, catalysing innovation and technological advancements for Malaysia's space industry.

"With its newfound standing in the IAF, MASIC is poised to deepen its engagement in the global space discourse, further amplify Malaysia’s growing capabilities, and foster international collaborations that will drive the nation's space sector forward," it said.

The formation of MASIC was spearheaded by the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) to create a singular platform for Malaysian local space industry players to collectively elevate the industry’s competencies and expertise.
