Gold Futures Close Higher

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, tracking gains in the US COMEX gold market, a dealer said.

The spot month October 2024 contract improved to US$2,686.70 per troy ounce from US$2,661.30 per troy ounce yesterday, while November 2024 advanced to US$2,704.00 per troy ounce compared to US$2,683.10 per troy ounce previously.

Meanwhile, the December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025 contracts all settled higher at US$2,709.80 per troy ounce compared with US$2,684.50 per troy ounce yesterday.

Trading volume dropped to six lots from 13 lots on Tuesday, while open interest slid to 27 contracts from 33 contracts previously.

According to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Oct 15, the price of physical gold stood at US$2,649.05 per troy ounce.
