Yinson Production's FPSO Vessel Maria Quiteria Achieves First Oil
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Yinson Production's floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Maria Quiteria has achieved first oil on Oct 15, 2024, followed by a successful 72-hour test.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said it marks the commencement of the project’s firm charter, with contracted day rates being paid to Yinson Production for a period of 22.5 years, until 2047.
"The project has also achieved an impressive safety milestone, reaching 21.6 million man-hours worked without a lost-time incident as of end-August 2024.
"FPSO Maria Quiteria is the second asset Yinson Production has delivered for its client Petrobras, following the successful delivery of FPSO Anna Nery in May 2023," it said.
Yinson Production chief executive officer Flemming Grønnegaard said the company is proud to reach this milestone with FPSO Maria Quiteria, which shows its commitment to deliver excellence in offshore production.
He noted that the achievement reflects not only the team's dedication to safety, innovation and operational excellence, but also strengthens the company's long-term partnership with Petrobras.
“We have been steadily growing our operations in Brazil over the past few years, and with FPSO Maria Quiteria joining our fleet, we look forward to further contributing to the country’s energy needs and helping drive Brazil’s economic and community growth,” he said.
Yinson Production is a business of Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market listed Yinson Holdings Bhd, a global energy infrastructure and technology company.
Yinson Production was awarded the FPSO Maria Quiteria project by Petrobras in November 2021 and the conversion works commenced on Jan 25, 2022.
After the successful completion of the project construction phase, the vessel set sail for Brazil in early May 2024.
In addition, on Sept 26, 2024, Yinson Production was honoured with the 2024 Petrobras Best Supplier Award in the Offshore Engineering (Obras de Engenharia Offshore) category for the successful execution of the FPSO Maria Quiteria project.
