Malaysia Aviation Group Joins CEO Action Network For Sustainable Business Practices

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd (MAG) has joined the CEO Action Network (CAN), a coalition of over 70 leaders committed to sustainability advocacy, capacity building and measurable action.

In a statement, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines said CAN seeks to empower its members to shape future-ready business models with integrated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.

This is driven by CAN’s workstreams, dedicated working groups, and active members collaborating on bespoke initiatives.

“As part of its involvement, MAG will actively contribute to the Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) workstream.

“This initiative will engage various stakeholders including supply chain partners, regulators and policymakers, government, as well as peers across various sectors to forge partnerships that are committed to responsible business practices and sustainable development,” it said.

Group managing director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail said that the participation in CAN’s DEI workstream complements MAG's broader mission to empower female representation in the workforce and the aviation sector.

“We are pleased to be making great progress in this aspect, having exceeded our target with 35 per cent overall participation of women in our workforce to date, with 50 per cent in senior management positions,” he said.

As part of this commitment, the group will continuously monitor and report on the progress of key initiatives that are being implemented through its annual sustainability report.
