Alliance Bank Announces BizSmart Challenge Champions, Recognises Malaysia’s Top Emerging Enterprises

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- BioLopp, Gula Cakery and HiiVolt, three emerging enterprises have been named as the top three winners for the BizSmart Challenge Accelerator Edition, an event that celebrates and recognises Malaysia’s top emerging enterprises.

In a statement today, Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd said the challenge, which has become a landmark platform in Malaysia’s small and medium enterprise (SME) ecosystem, awarded a total of RM550,000 in cash prizes to 13 winners.

“These awards underscore the challenge’s commitment to fostering a diverse range of high-potential SMEs and equipping them with resources and opportunities that fuel growth and drive lasting business impact.

“By broadening its support, the challenge enables more SMEs to make meaningful strides in their respective industries and reinforces Alliance Bank’s dedication to cultivating Malaysia’s next generation of innovative entrepreneurs,” it said.

Alliance Bank group chief executive officer Kellee Kam said with the invaluable support of its esteemed partners – Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC), Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, 1337 Ventures Sdn Bhd and 5X Capital – they are committed to providing mentorship and industry insights, including resources and opportunities, for SMEs to thrive.

On the champions, the bank said these three companies have distinguished themselves as top-rising businesses, impressing judges with their outstanding business acumen, innovation and growth potential coming ahead of 10 other impressive finalists.

“BioLoop, a biotechnology firm focused on sustainable waste management, was named champion winning a total of RM265,000, encompassing multiple accolades such as the Cradle Partner Selection Award and the Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia (CGC) Category Award.

The company uses Black Soldier Fly Larvae technology to convert food waste into high-protein animal feed and organic fertilisers.

In a bid to address Malaysia’s waste challenges and contribute to food security, the company has already processed over 8,000 tonnes of food waste since it was founded in 2020.

The CGC Category Award for second place was bagged by Gula Cakery, founded by Nor Arieni Ritzal, bringing home a total of RM105,000 for its dedication to quality and community.

Additionally, HiiVolt, which is Malaysia’s first provider of extended warranties for hybrid vehicle batteries, was named the third champion for the BizSmart Challenge Accelerator Edition.

The company won RM65,000 in total, which includes the Cradle Partner Selection Award, CGC Category Award and Investor’s Choice Award by 1337 Ventures.

“The company’s innovative solutions, such as warranty solutions and eco-friendly battery refurbishing services, further support Malaysia’s growing green automotive industry,” the bank said.
