Bursa Malaysia Confirms Embarking On Succession Plan Amid Reports Of CEO Exit

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Bhd has confirmed that it is embarking on a chief executive officer (CEO) succession plan. This addresses media reports that its current CEO and executive director, Datuk Muhamad Umar, is considering leaving the company.

The bourse said it “has in place a talent development and succession plan which considers both internal and external candidates as potential future leaders of the company.”

“In this respect, the board of Bursa Malaysia through its nomination and remuneration committee, is currently embarking on CEO succession,” it said in a stock exchange filing.

Media reports said Muhamad Umar’s position could be taken up by Datuk Fad’l Mohamed, the current managing director of group wholesale banking at RHB Bank Bhd.
