FBM KLCI Futures Close Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking the underlying cash market’s performance.

At the close, new spot month January 2025 shed 4.0 points to 1,638.0, new contract month February 2025 stood at 1,641.5, March 2025 declined 3.0 points to 1,624.0 and June 2025 fell 3.5 points to 1,629.0. 

Turnover declined to 8,280 lots from 10,744 lots on Tuesday, while open interest narrowed to 43,615 contracts from 47,278 contracts previously.  

At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 9.46 points or 0.58 per cent to 1,632.87 compared with Tuesday’s close of 1,642.33.

The market was closed on Wednesday for the New Year holiday.
