FBM KLCI Futures End Lower, Echo Cash Market Losses

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, mirroring losses in the underlying cash market.  

At the close, January 2025 and February 2025 futures dropped 17.0 points each to 1,613.0 and 1,617.5, respectively. March 2025 and June 2025 contracts declined 16.5 points to 1,601.0 and 1,606.0.  

Turnover surged to 7,635 lots from 4,407 lots on Tuesday, while open interest expanded to 43,635 contracts from 40,573 previously.  

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI fell 14.96 points, or 0.92 per cent, to its intraday low of 1,614.83, compared with Tuesday’s close of 1,629.79.
