MARii Appoints Aminar Rashid As New Bod Chairman
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) has appointed Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid as the chairman of its board of directors (BOD), effective immediately.
In a statement today, MARii highlighted Aminar’s extensive experience and strategic leadership in the nation’s automotive and technology sectors.
“Previously, he served as the managing director, president, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) from 2010 to 2018. He also held key strategic roles at UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, including as the company’s executive director of group strategic planning,” it said.
Meanwhile, Aminar said that with the collective efforts of the entire MARii team, he believes that the institute will continue to strengthen the nation’s automotive ecosystem through close collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), industry players, universities, and government agencies,
Meanwhile, MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz described Aminar’s appointment as a significant strategic move to drive the transformation of Malaysia’s automotive industry.
“With his guidance and vast experience in the automotive sector, I am confident MARii will further solidify its strategic direction in line with the national agenda and the mandate from MITI,” he said.
MARii also extended its gratitude to its interim chairman Datuk Hairil Yahri Yaacob, who is also MITI secretary-general, for his outstanding contributions and leadership during the transition period.
