Pansar's Unit Secures RM477.69 Mln Highway Construction Contract

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- Pansar Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a RM477.69 million contract by the Sarawak Public Works Department for the design and construction of a section of the Serian-Gedong-Samarahan Dual Carriageway Highway.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the contract involves the design and construction of an 8.5-kilometre, four-lane dual carriageway highway, including two bridges, an Autonomous Rail Transit reserve, bicycle tracks, utility corridors, road lighting, and related infrastructure.

“The contract period is 36 months and the project is scheduled to commence in February 2025.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the group as the project progresses during the contract period,” the company said.

Pansar also said that the project, which covers Section 1B of the highway, spans from Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus.

“None of the directors and/or major shareholders of Pansar or persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above contract,” the company said.
