MATRADE Eyeing 20,000 Visitors, 750 Exhibitors For International Healthcare Week 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is targeting over 20,000 visitors and 750 multi-national exhibitors for the upcoming International Healthcare Week 2025.

Chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the event aimed at fostering industry insights and networking within the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors.

"As we know, these sectors are significant contributors to our economy and are listed as priority sectors in the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030),” he said in his speech at at an event titled ‘Malaysia's 2024 Trade Performance: Navigating Trade Winds of 2025’ today.

Malaysia will be hosting the International Healthcare Week 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on July 16-18 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

The NIMP 2030 has identified medical devices and pharmaceuticals as priority sectors.

In his speech, Reezal Merican revealed some of MATRADE’s initiatives and programmes for 2025.

Among others, it will participate in at least 24 trade fairs, including Gulfood, Paris Air Show and Semicon SEA, and will introduce an interactive platform, MADANI Digital Trade, for its partners, exporters, importers, and customers.

He added that, building on the success of MIHAS@Dubai in 2024, MATRADE is expanding the international reach of the Halal showcase to Shanghai this year.
