INSKEN Aims To Train 25,000 Entrepreneurs, Focus On B40 Group

PASIR SALAK, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- The National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INSKEN) aims to train 25,000 entrepreneurs this year after successfully training 13,000 of them nationwide last year.

INSKEN chairman Mustaffa Kamil Ayub said entrepreneurs trained last year had produced outstanding achievements, with the majority of them able to increase their sales value after attending the institute's guidance programme.

"INSKEN will organise various entrepreneurship programmes and training this year, with the hope of guiding targeted entrepreneurs nationwide.

"Last year, we targeted 10,000 but we succeeded in training 13,000 entrepreneurs through training and guidance programmes in collaboration with other agencies and departments, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs),” he told a media conference here today.

He said this after officiating the closing ceremony of the Basic Skills and Entrepreneurship Course and the Compliance with Tourism Operator Regulations for the Central Perak District, Bagan Datuk at Dewan Millenium of the Kampung Gajah District and Land Office.

Mustaffa Kamil said INSKEN will also continue to pay attention to the development of entrepreneurs, particularly from the B40 and asnaf groups.

He said this move could help improve the income of the B40 because trading is the biggest source of income.

"We offer various initiatives to guide entrepreneurs nationwide and it is our focus to answer the government's call to continue to help the groups involved,” he said.

He added that INSKEN also carried out strategic collaborations with various related NGOs in a bid to have a bigger impact.

"As such, this strategic cooperation is required to achieve the same goal, which is to help entrepreneurs to develop their businesses,” he said.
