Subi Introduces Seven Rebranded Frozen Seafood Products

By Mohd Noor Iqram Rosli

KOTA BHARU, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Frozen seafood brand, Subi, which has been established since 1998, is now launching a rebranding for seven of its products, in line with the evolving needs of modern consumers.

The seven rebranded frozen seafood products are Tempura Pollock Fish Bites, Tempura Pollock Fillet Steak, Crumbed Pollock Fish Fingers, Tempura Pollock Fish Fillets, Crumbed Corn Fish Nuggets, Battered Squid Based Rings, and Crumbed Spicy Korean Pollock Fish Fingers.

Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd chief commercial officer Daniel Koay said Subi products have long been certified halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, reflecting their compliance with seafood processing standards and ethics.

He said this reflects the company’s commitment to providing products that are not only delicious but also nutritious, easy to prepare, and accessible to people from all walks of life at an affordable price.

“We believe that these products are designed to support a modern lifestyle while maintaining the original taste and benefits of seafood,” he said to Bernama in Tunjong, here, recently.

Also present were Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd executive director Salim Mydin and Pacific West Foods (M) Sdn Bhd general manager Joseph Lim.

Both Pacific West and Subi are brands under Golden Fresh, a Malaysian supplier of raw and value-added seafood products, specialising in frozen seafood.

According to Lim, the group chose Mydin as the main platform to market Subi products because the hypermarket better understands the needs and tastes of Malaysians, in line with Subi’s mission to ensure every family can enjoy seafood at an affordable price, which is RM14.99 per pack.

Meanwhile, Salim said the selection of Subi as strategic partner was based on the quality of frozen seafood products that are suitable for Mydin’s market nationwide.
