SSF, Rumah Ibu Ink MoU For Affordable Housing Initiative In Perak

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Homegrown furniture and home living retailer SSF Home Group Bhd (SSF) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rumah Ibu Sdn Bhd to collaborate on the Rumah Ibu Scheme, an affordable homeownership initiative in Perak.

The scheme aims to benefit at least 35,000 landowners in Rancangan Perkampungan Tersusun (RPT) across Perak.

In a statement today, SSF said that under the collaboration, it will be the exclusive supplier of kitchen cabinets and furniture vouchers for new Rumah Ibu buyers.

“This initiative ensures that new Rumah Ibu buyers have access to high-quality, functional, and aesthetically appealing home furnishing solutions.

“Depending on the Rumah Ibu model, SSF will provide kitchen cabinets valued between RM1,500 and RM5,000, along with furniture vouchers worth up to RM5,500, offering flexibility and affordability,” the statement said.

It also said that as part of the agreement, Rumah Ibu will procure the furnishings directly from SSF, with payments made upon successful delivery and installation.

“These purchases will be incorporated into the total Rumah Ibu sales package, ensuring buyers enjoy a seamless homeownership experience without incurring additional upfront furniture expenses,” it said.

SSF executive director Lok Kok Khong said the collaboration with Rumah Ibu and the Perak state government allows the company to offer affordable furnishings while supporting the government’s homeownership efforts.

“We are committed to making quality home furnishings accessible and are excited to be part of this meaningful initiative that will positively impact communities in Perak,” he said.

The MoU signing was followed by a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, representatives from SSF and Rumah Ibu along with industry stakeholders and local authorities.
