PUMP Offers Opportunities For Sabahans to Venture Into Automotive Industry

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), through the MARA-Petronas Automotive Entrepreneur Development Programme (PUMP), is providing more opportunities for local entrepreneurs in Sabah to venture into the automotive industry in the state.

In a statement, MARA said the programme, a strategic collaboration between MARA and Petronas Lubricants, aims to encourage Bumiputera entrepreneurs to own their own AutoExpert workshops in Borneo, particularly in Sabah.

MARA Deputy Director-General (Entrepreneurship) Datuk Zulfikri Osman said that since its inception in 2020, the partnership has successfully established 54 workshops across Peninsular Malaysia.

"MARA is now expanding to Borneo with a target to establish more workshops in Sabah and Sarawak. The program was launched in Kuching, Sarawak yesterday and is now being implemented in Sabah," he said in the statement.

Earlier, he officiated the Sabah-level PUMP event, which was attended by 50 participants.

According to Zulfikri, PUMP, classified as a special MARA programme, offers a straightforward approach and a fast process for entrepreneurs to own their own workshops.

He also advised participants to maintain a positive attitude, follow the guidance provided, and stay highly focused on their businesses to achieve success.
