CelcomDigi Posts Slightly Lower Net Profit Of RM1.38 Bln In FY2024

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- CelcomDigi Bhd posted a slightly lower net profit of RM1.38 billion in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2024 (FY2024) from RM1.55 billion in the previous year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said revenue was consistent at RM12.68 billion, with its growth constrained by fewer rotational one-time SIM acquisitions and SIM consolidation following the merger.

“Postpaid consumer revenue grew with subscriber growth, while the enterprise mobile segment saw a decline in subscriber base.

“Besides, home and fibre achieved a 28.4 per cent revenue increase, reaching 209,000 subscribers,” it said.

CelcomDigi said the wholesale segment remained stable, with higher hubbing, lease line, and solution revenue offsetting the end of a domestic roaming arrangement since December 2023.

For the fourth quarter (4Q 2024), net profit narrowed to RM157.04 million from RM435.15 million in the same quarter of the previous year, while revenue remained unchanged at RM3.27 billion.

The company said total revenue was stable in 4Q 2024 with increased device revenue, strong postpaid revenue performance supported by subscriber growth, and consistent double-digit growth in the home and fibre segments, where subscribers reached 209,000, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 78,000.

However, it said growth was moderated by a strategic shift away from one-time prepaid SIM acquisitions, SIM consolidation, and the impact of regulated rate reductions on interconnect revenue.

On prospect, CelcomDigi will focus on intensifying its transformation programme and is optimistic about achieving sustainable growth in line with market opportunities in 2025.

“The company will focus on growing as the market leader across the businesses and create the path for long-term profitable growth, increasing value to our base through digital value-added services, driving operational excellence through cost structure optimisation and operating model changes and will continue to invest for the future and building new capabilities,” it said.

Meanwhile, CelcomDigi declared a fourth interim single-tier dividend of 3.7 sen per share for FY2024, payable on March 27, 2025.
