Southern Cable Secures Contracts Worth RM403.6 Mln From TNB

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Southern Cable Group Bhd's unit Southern Cable Sdn Bhd has secured contracts totalling RM403.6 million from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to supply underground cables and conductors for one year from February 2025.

The group said in a statement today that these contracts offer significant upside potential for Southern Cable.

It explained that TNB has the option to extend the agreements for another year with add-on orders of the original contract value.

“Furthermore, TNB may exercise its option to request additional orders up to 30 per cent of the original contract value, further boosting the potential revenue from these agreements,” it said.

Southern Cable mentioned that it has consistently secured significant contracts with TNB as demonstrated by recent agreements for the 2022-2024 period totalling about RM850 million.

Its group managing director Tung Eng Hai said the contracts from TNB demonstrate its continual confidence in Southern Cable’s ability to deliver high-quality products vital to Malaysia’s critical power infrastructure.

"Looking ahead, we are confident in delivering a strong performance for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025 supported by robust orders and Malaysia’s development activities," he added.
