Sabah Company Partners Schlumberger For Greater Participation In O&G Sector

LABUAN, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Nawie Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd (NOS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Schlumberger Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SLB) to enhance its participation in Sabah’s oil and gas (O&G) industry.

The MoU was signed by NOS chief executive officer Masnahwi Nawe and SLB Sales and Marketing director Aminuddin Said in Kota Kinabalu on Feb 27, witnessed by Tas Oil and Gas Institute director Datuk George Bandusena and SLB East Asia managing director Meng Keong Lee.

The companies will collaborate to explore opportunities in the sector, integrating their technologies, services, and expertise to support the state’s O&G gas operations.

NOS said in a statement today that SLB would provide technical and technology support, including training for NOS personnel on the use of SLB’s equipment and services, with a focus on well intervention activities in Sabah.

SLB would facilitate knowledge transfer and capacity-building programmes, emphasising operational excellence and sustainable practices.

NOS will leverage local expertise to identify potential projects, manage stakeholders, and optimise logistics, manpower, and other support services for project implementation.

Masnahwi, who is also Labuan Chamber of Commerce O&G bureau chairman, said NOS could accelerate expansion and deliver innovative, cost-effective well services, particularly in well intervention with a clear framework in place.

NOS, a fully Malaysian-owned company from Sabah, is a registered Petronas vendor specialising in upstream and downstream O&G services, including equipment sales, rental, and well intervention support. 

SLB is part of O&G and energy services SLB group.
