Hong Kong's Unity Group To Cut 25 Mln Tonnes Of Co2 Emission From Malaysian Projects

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- Hong Kong-listed Unity Group Holdings International Ltd is targeting a 25-million tonnes reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Malaysia through its sustainability projects.

It said the initiative not only strengthens global carbon credit adoption but also accelerates the shift toward a low-carbon economy.

“With the growing urgency to combat climate change, the company cements its role in advancing global sustainability solutions,” it said in a statement.

Unity Group chairman and chief executive officer Mansfield Wong said the company believes in the strength of collective action, driving it to create solutions that set new standards for the industry.

“We must act now and act together. Our mission is to transition from global warming to global cooling through innovation, collaboration, and meaningful climate action,” he said.

Unveiled at the International Carbon Credit Day Conference, Unity Group's Green Pioneer programme focuses on reducing environmental impact with ultra-high energy-efficient environmental, social and governance (ESG) lighting.

This features ultra-efficient ESG lighting that uses 75 per cent less energy than standard light-emitting diode (LED), lasts up to 40 years, and has a defect rate of just 0.01 per cent, thus revolutionising energy efficiency.
