MATRADE Launches MADANI Digital Trade
KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), in partnership with software developer Nazsoft Tech Sdn Bhd, has launched MADANI Digital Trade (MDT), an integrated virtual showcase to strengthen Malaysian exporters’ access to global markets.
MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the MDT platform aligns with the government's strategy to leverage digital tools for greater market access and intelligence.
“This platform is a strategic approach to empower our exporters of all sizes to connect them with global markets, accelerate market diversification, and achieve greater success.
“This is in line with our target of increasing the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) from 19.1 per cent in 2019 to 22.6 per cent by 2025,” he said in his speech at the official launch of MDT.
MDT, which offers business matching functions, an e-marketplace, market intelligence on grants, training, market access and trade-related business solutions, was launched by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
The Royal Malaysia Customs Department supports MDT by offering users the possibility to access its services via MDT.
MATRADE said the strategic partnership leverages on automation, artificial intelligence and data analytics to better support trade facilitation including access customs declaration for import, export, e-commerce as well as regulatory compliance.
The agency said key features of the MDT platform include a virtual engagement platform that connects companies with MATRADE's Premium Buyers and International Sourcing Programmes (INSP), facilitating business-to-business matching and identifying potential buyer opportunities in diverse markets.
It said an e-marketplace and market aggregator enable micro, small and medium enterprises to showcase and sell their products and services, bridging the gap between Malaysian brands and the global marketplace while allowing them to rapidly adapt to changing consumer preferences and market demands.
The Member Portal and Digital Trade Hub is a centralised portal that provides exporters with comprehensive information, grants and training, simplifies trade procedures and reduces costs for cross-border trade, giving Malaysian businesses the agility needed to pivot toward emerging opportunities in the green economy.
“The platform also acts as a one-stop business solutions centre that offers access to innovative shared services and solutions on environmental, social and governance (ESG), fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0), trade financing, digital marketing, virtual assistants and more, driving business growth and accelerating market diversification strategies.
“The MDT also saw the introduction of its intelligence virtual assistant, MIVA. MIVA greets and assists all members who log in to navigate the platform, providing 24/7 real-time assistance to buyers,” it said.
