Gold Futures Close Higher, Tracking Stronger Comex

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, reflecting the stronger performance of COMEX gold futures.

At the close, the spot-month March 2025 contract rose to US$3,033.30 per troy ounce from US$2,992.80 on Monday, while April 2025 advanced to US$3,043.60 from US$3,003.10 previously.

May 2025, June 2025 and August 2025 all improved to US$3,053.60 per troy ounce from US$3,013.10 per troy ounce on Monday.

However, trading volume reduced to 15 lots from 26 lots, while open interest narrowed to 66 contracts from 75 contracts. 

According to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on March 18, physical gold was priced at US$3025.80 per troy ounce.
