PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia 2025 Introduces 23 New Categories

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- The 12th edition of PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia, in partnership with iProperty, will expand in 2025 with the introduction of 23 new award categories, bringing the total to 132.

In a statement, PropertyGuru said the awards, which recognise excellence in property development and design, will be held on Oct 9, 2025, at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur.

Winners will advance to the 20th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok on Dec 12, 2025.

“This year’s edition introduces nine new awards for landed and high-rise developments across Central, Northern, and Southern Malaysia, covering Ultra Luxury and Mid-End categories for both property types.

“Seven new categories will recognise residential projects across Malaysia, including Best Townhouse, Mixed-Use, Oceanview, Serviced Apartment, and Heritage Developments, while two new categories will highlight commercial projects with Best Lifestyle Commercial Development and Best Nature Integrated Development,” said the statement.

Six design categories have been introduced to recognise excellence in architecture and interior aesthetics, including Best Townhouse Architecture, Interior, Landscape, Sales Gallery, Retail Interior, and Office Architectural Design.

“The expansion of categories builds on the success of the ESG Developer Awards introduced in 2024, with the special awards returning this year to recognise five champions in environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, reinforcing PropertyGuru’s support for sustainable development,” it said.

Malaysian Institute of Architects president and judging panel chairperson Datuk Ezumi Harzani Ismail said last year’s award winners demonstrated improvements in Malaysia’s property sector and showed the industry’s ability to adapt to changing standards.

“Participating in the awards is essential for developers as it not only establishes higher benchmarks in real estate development and design but also promotes healthy competition as well as collaborative innovation,” he said.

A 14-member panel, led by Ezumi Harzani, will evaluate entries and select winners during the Live Judging Days in July 2025, consisting of experts in town planning, ESG, property valuation, engineering, management, architecture, design, and law.
