Bursa Malaysia, Subsidiaries To Close For Hari Raya Aidilfitri

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will be closed on Monday and Tuesday (March 31 and April 1) in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri public holiday, subject to the official announcement by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal.

In a statement today, the stock exchange operator said both securities and derivatives markets will resume operations on Wednesday (April 2) if the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on March 31 and the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on April 1.

It said if the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on April 1 (Tuesday) and the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on April 2 (Wednesday), Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will be closed on April 1 and 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday), and resume operations on April 3 (Thursday).

"Both securities and derivatives market will operate under normal trading hours on March 31 (Monday). 

"However, there will be no T+1 Night Trading session for the derivatives market on that date," said the exchange operator.

Nonetheless, Bursa Gold Dinar primary marketplace and Bursa Suq Al-Sila’ will remain open for trading during the public holiday, it added.
