Bank Muamalat Allocates Over RM500,000 For Ramadan CSR Initiatives

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has allocated over RM500,000 for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives throughout Ramadan this year.

More than 5,000 individuals, including asnaf (eligible zakat recipients), orphans, fisabilillah (those striving in the path of Allah), muallaf (new Muslim converts), and others, have benefited from the bank’s Ramadan programme.

These initiatives included breaking-of-fast events across four regions and food packages for iftar, the bank said in a statement today.

"Additionally, several Bank Muamalat branches in each state organised a porridge distribution programme, benefiting 7,000 people," it added.

Bank Muamalat president and chief executive officer Khairul Kamarudin expressed his appreciation to the bank’s staff for their dedication and commitment in delivering the CSR initiatives.

"Bank Muamalat is grateful to be able to conduct these programmes throughout Ramadan, not only to assist those in need but also to strengthen our bond with the community."
