Nor Shahrizan Sulaiman Appointed Officer-in-Charge Of Maybank Islamic

KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- Maybank Islamic Bhd (MIB) has appointed Nor Shahrizan Sulaiman, currently serving as deputy chief executive officer (CEO), as the officer-in-charge.

This was following the resignation of the group CEO (GCEO), Islamic Banking, Datuk Muzaffar Hisham, to pursue other professional interests.

The process to identify the new GCEO will commence immediately and the outcome of which will be announced in due course, Maybank group said in a statement.

"On behalf of Maybank group, I extend my deepest gratitude to Muzaffar for his invaluable contributions over the past 14 years.

"He has played a pivotal role in steering our Islamic banking franchise towards achieving true global leadership, in line with our M25+ strategy," said president and GCEO of Maybank, Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli.

Nor Shahrizan would take on the day-to-day management of MIB in addition to his current duties, until a new GCEO is appointed, added the statement.
