Gold Futures Close Higher In Tandem With Gains In US Comex

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today, in tandem with gains in the US COMEX.

Spot month May 2025 contract increased to US$3,317.20 per troy ounce from US$3,244.70 per troy ounce yesterday, while the June 2025 contract advanced to US$3,330.20 per troy ounce from US$3,257.50 per troy ounce.

The July, August, and October 2025 contracts rose to US$3,343.90 per troy ounce from US$3,271.20 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume surged to 665 lots from 477 lots on Tuesday, while open interest jumped to 698 contracts from 33 contracts yesterday.

Physical gold was priced at US$3,261.55 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on May 20.
