Malaysian Fraud Prevention In Focus As Provenir Leads Panel On Digital Authentication

KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has recorded RM54.02 billion in losses due to financial scams, highlighting the urgent need for more robust fraud prevention measures as financial crimes become increasingly sophisticated.

As part of efforts to address this challenge, a panel session titled “The Digital Identity & Authentication – Building Trust in Malaysia’s Digital Banking Ecosystem” will be held at The AI, Cloud & Cybersecurity Congress 2025 event on June 17.

According to a statement, the event organised by The Digital Banker will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.

Moderated by Provenir APAC Regional Sales Director and Principal Consultant, Kavinesswaran Karthigasan, the session will feature panellists from CIMB, Maybank, Boost Bank, and Standard Chartered.

Discussions will focus on enhancing digital identity verification, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven authentication systems, and the role of Open Finance in strengthening trust in Malaysia’s banking sector.

Karthigasan will also lead a second session titled “Scaling Bank-Fintech Partnerships in Malaysia – From Collaboration to Success”, with panellists from SC Ventures, GX Bank and BCS.

The one-day event is set to convene regulators, financial leaders, and technology innovators to explore how cloud, AI, and cybersecurity technologies can drive resilience and efficiency in Malaysia’s banking industry.
