Jumio Unveils Advanced Biometric Solution For Enhanced Digital Identity Fraud Detection

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- Jumio, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered identity intelligence, has announced the general availability of its most advanced biometric liveness detection solution to date, Jumio Liveness Premium with advanced deepfake detection.

The solution incorporates a patented technology that combines randomised colour sequences with AI-driven analysis to confirm real-time human presence, effectively preventing spoofing attacks before they affect businesses.

According to the company in a statement, this release builds upon the recently launched Jumio Liveness by adding another layer of security.

“Attackers are using tools that were once confined to research labs. AI-generated faces, synthetic overlays and injection techniques are now being deployed at scale by bad actors.

“Jumio’s premium liveness with advanced deepfake detection addresses the next generation of fraud head-on and is the perfect solution for businesses seeking to proactively increase their defences,” said Jumio chief product and technology officer, Bala Kumar.

While the initial technology counters traditional presentation attacks such as paper or screen copies, the premium version employs sophisticated AI models to block more advanced threats, including injection attacks and deepfakes.

Early adopters of the solution have reported significant improvements. A leading financial startup in Latin America, for example, has detected over 30 per cent more complex fraud attempts, including those involving injection and deepfake attacks.

Jumio’s multi-layered defence strategy integrates liveness detection, AI-driven fraud detection, anti-spoofing technologies and connected intelligence to counter both existing and emerging threats.

The approach is underpinned by over 300 issued patents and applications across nearly 100 unique patent families.
