SME Corp, SHRD Partner To Drive Innovation Among SMEs

KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), in collaboration with the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRD), has launched a strategic partnership initiative aimed at promoting innovation as a core growth strategy for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In a statement today, SME Corp said the collaboration kicked off with the first of three innovation seminars under the theme ‘Future-Ready SMEs: The Power of Innovation’.

The seminar benefitted over 70 SMEs from various sectors, supporting local enterprises in adopting innovation-driven strategies to boost productivity, competitiveness and readiness for global expansion.

“This initiative is also part of SME Corp’s agenda under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) to help transform local SMEs from small-scale to medium-sized enterprises and expand their market reach internationally,” the agency said.

SME Corp chief executive officer Rizal Nainy said the timing of the seminar was crucial to equip SMEs with the knowledge and approaches needed to strengthen their innovation strategies.

“By fostering innovation among SMEs, we hope to enhance their contribution to national productivity and ensure sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive global economy,” he said.

SME Corp added that the next two seminar sessions are scheduled for July and August in Kuala Lumpur and will be invitation-only for selected SMEs. Further information is available at www.smecorp.gov.my.
