MSM Announces Group CEO Resignation, Appoints Acting Group CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Sugar producer MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd has announced the resignation of group chief executive officer (CEO) Syed Feizal Syed Mohammad effective tomorrow.

MSM said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that Syed Feizal, 60, is stepping down to pursue personal interests after leading the company since February 2021.

MSM also said there are no disagreements between Syed Feizal and the board, and no matters arising from his resignation that require shareholder attention.

Meanwhile, MSM said it has appointed its group chief operating officer (COO) Hasni Ahmad, 57, as acting group CEO effective tomorrow.

Hasni, who has a degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson University, US, has served as MSM’s COO since 2021 and previously held senior operational roles at FGV Holdings Bhd.
