SUSE Launches EU-based Sovereign Support To Strengthen Digital Resilience
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) -- SUSE, a global leader in enterprise open source solutions, has unveiled SUSE Sovereign Premium Support, its most comprehensive sovereign support offering tailored to meet digital sovereignty and regulatory compliance requirements within the European Union (EU).
SUSE chief executive officer, Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen said this new offering is a natural extension of the company’s open by design, sovereign by choice philosophy.
“It reflects our commitment to empowering organisations that demand control, resilience, and future-proof information technology (IT) infrastructure,” he said.
The new service, announced amid growing demand for localised, secure IT infrastructure, provides EU-based Premium Support Engineers (PSEs) and Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), with all support data stored on EU-located servers.
In a statement, SUSE said it is aimed at customers navigating evolving sovereignty regulations, geopolitical risks, and heightened data privacy expectations.
According to IDC, over 80 per cent of European organisations are already adopting or planning to adopt sovereign cloud solutions by 2025.
SUSE’s new service is positioned to serve not only regulated sectors like government and defence but also a broader customer base increasingly focused on data control and digital autonomy.
Industry partners, including Fsas Technologies Europe, welcomed the move, noting SUSE’s long-standing commitment to digital sovereignty. IDC analysts also emphasised the strategic importance of such solutions as global uncertainties drive increased scrutiny on data locality and regulatory alignment.
