Luster’s Glove Unit Reports Industrial Accident At Selangor Factory

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- Luster Industries Bhd's 56 per cent-owned subsidiary Glovmaster Sdn Bhd reported an industrial accident today at its manufacturing facility in Selangor.

The group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the incident involved the collapse of a storage rack at the factory.

“Immediate action was taken following the incident and all necessary support and assistance have been provided," it said.

Luster said it has been adopting a cautious approach in operating its glove manufacturing segment, which contributes minimally to the group’s overall revenue and does not impact its profitability.

The company noted that the financial implications may include damage costs and a temporary suspension of manufacturing operations.

“The full extent of the impact is currently being assessed and the company will make further announcements if there are any material developments or adverse effects on operations arising from the incident,” it said.

It added that the board of directors and management have expressed their concern and reiterated their commitment to the wellbeing of all affected parties.
