PKPS To Export Sunflower Oil, Margarine To Australia Next Month - Exco

SHAH ALAM, July 25 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) will begin exporting cooking oil, sunflower oil, and margarine to international markets starting next month, according to state Agriculture and Infrastructure Committee chairman Datuk Izham Hashim.

Under the agency’s initiative -- which is implemented in collaboration with Agro 19 Bhd -- the products will be exported to Australia in the next two weeks, creating a new revenue stream for the state, he said.

“We will start with exporting around 30 tonnes of these locally-made products under the Ehsan brand,” he said to reporters after the launch of Ehsan’s frozen food products here today.

Izham added that the agency also plans to produce more PKPS products for international markets, emphasising that the state government has always supported the Selangor agricultural sector’s development to ensure sustainable growth, while supporting the nation’s food security aspirations.

“We are assessing the entire food supply chain to determine where assistance can be provided, whether through state or federal allocations, with PKPS acting as the lead implementing agency.

“For example, activities like seeding and breeding are costly and have slow returns, so we step in to ensure the entire supply chain runs smoothly—from land preparation, seed and livestock breeding, and production to warehousing and marketing,” he said.
