475 Mln E-invoices Issued To Date, Involving 98,813 Taxpayers - Lim
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- As of Aug 18, 2025, a total of 475 million e-invoices have been issued by 98,813 taxpayers under the first, second and third phases of the mandatory implementation of the e-invoicing system, said Deputy Finance Minister, Lim Hui Ying.
At the same time, 37,000 taxpayers under phases four and five had also voluntarily implemented the e-invoicing system.
“Their participation demonstrates a strong level of acceptance of the e-invoicing rollout," she said during a question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Lim said this in response to a question from Azli Yusof (PH-Shah Alam) on the status of the e-invoicing rollout and the government’s projected revenue from the initiative.
She noted that the rollout is still at an early stage, and revenue projections can only be determined after full mandatory implementation begins on July 1, 2026.
“At the same time, the government will monitor the effectiveness of the implementation in terms of improving tax compliance,” added Lim.
