Axiata Shares Ease After Lower Revenue In Second Quarter

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- Axiata Group Bhd shares eased in early trade today after the group reported a decline in revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q 2025).

At 9.46 am, the counter slipped three sen to RM2.55 with 711,400 shares traded.

Axiata said in a stock exchange filing that its net profit rose to RM270.82 million in 2Q 2025, compared with RM134.90 million in the same period last year.

Revenue, however, fell to RM2.97 billion from RM3.32 billion previously, mainly due to the unfavourable impact of foreign currency translation as the currencies of its operating companies depreciated against the ringgit.
